HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
In order for a student to receive a high school diploma from ELITE, he/she must:
- For American students - Pass the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA)
- For international students - minimum TOEFL score of 80
- Successfully complete a minimum of 130 credits. The course work must include the following
- Language Arts – at least 20 credits
- Mathematics – at least 20 credits
- Science – at least 15 credits
- Social Studies – at least 20 credits (including two courses in US History)
- Physical Education and Health – at least 20 credits
- World Languages – at least 10 credits
- Visual and Performing Arts – at least 5 credits
- Practical Arts – at least 5 credits
- Additional Elective – at least 15 credits
Each full year course that meets routinely shall yield 5 credits. Semester courses that meet routinely shall yield 2.5 credits. Quarter courses that meet routinely shall yield 1.25 credits.
As our school is registered with the New Jersey Department of Education, all high school students who plan to graduate in June, must Satisfy the following by the third marking period in order to be considered for granting the high school diploma:
- complete all required coures and receive satisfactory grades
- receive a mininum IBT TOEFL scores of 80
- obtain at least one acceptance letter from a four-year college.
